Table for One has a new home!
As of today, there will be a new kitchen to cook in and a gorgeous new island to serve as a bar for dinner parties.
It’s a wonderful feeling to be a home owner, but obviously a bittersweet milestone for me. House hunting was something that Sean and I were looking forward to. I always pictured us signing the papers together, getting giddy when we were handed the keys and then spending the first night in our empty condo eating take out on the floor and sharing a celebratory bottle of bubbly.
So on October 19 when I got the keys, that’s exactly what I did.
The beauty about the condo is that it has a great mix of what Sean and I had on our wish lists. Sean was all about the dark hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances. I just wanted an area for a dining table and a nice open kitchen that made entertaining easy. An island was not a priority on my wish list, but a definite ‘nice to have’.
Sean and I have been through our fair share of apartments in the past ten years. The one thing we realized while hunting for a new rental was that you had to have a feeling about it. It had to feel like home. So when I stepped in to see the condo for the first time, I knew Sean would approve. It checked all our boxes. In an instant, my heart was set on it.
Finally the hunt was over. The transition period had ended. Simply put: We were home.
Sean Factor: The small frame you see on the island is a wedding portrait of Sean and me. It was one of the first things I moved to the apartment on October 19 when I got possession. I don’t know why I felt it was important to do it. It somehow just felt right.

Your new home looks beautiful Bev! Congratulations!! Hope to be able to see you sometime soon and to try out some of your delicious treats in your dark wood floor kitchen. Hugs..Krithi
